ABOUT ME
A Well-Respected Colleague
As an educator and a human factors practitioner, I am always exploring our evolving relationship with technology and interactive methods of introducing my students to these difference concepts. My research interests focus not only on the effects of automation on our society, but also how this burgeoning technology can tackle societal issues of promoting sustainability, equality, and diversity.

TESTIMONIALS
“Mattie has worked on our team as a graduate research assistant and as our laboratory director for the past 3 years. I have witnessed her invest an enormous amount of time, energy, and effort in the projects she has worked on, and she applies a critical and analytical approach that is rarely found in students. Within our research team, she has established herself as a leader, and she has been one of our most reliable and dependable graduate students."
- Dr. Scott Winter, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, College of Aviation
“Mattie continues to be my top researcher this year, as she has been in previous years. She is not only extremely active in publishing, but she also is my Lab Manager and handles the daily duties in the lab, including managing undergrads, handling money for participant pay, and generally being awesome. Mattie has mentored several undergraduate students, as well as half a dozen graduate students. She is very liked by everyone in the lab and is always willing to help out even before she is asked. She goes above and beyond in every situation that I've ever seen her in."
- Dr. Stephen Rice, Academic Adviser and Dissertation Committee Chair, Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University, College of Arts and Sciences
